MARS UNDER SIEGE: THREE VILTRUMITES LEAVE MARTIAN STRONGHOLDS IN RUINS
Mars was plunged into chaos today as the Viltrumites Korlan, Ares, and Helionyx descended upon the planet in a devastating assault that overwhelmed Martian defenses with terrifying speed. The three-member force tore through fortified cities, shattering defensive walls and reducing entire districts to rubble. For the Martians, the attack was especially horrifying because Viltrumites are already infamous across the galaxy as an extraordinarily powerful conquering species.
At least three major Martian strongholds have reportedly been devastated, with communications networks collapsing as the attackers moved from one target to the next. Defensive forces attempted to regroup, but conventional weapons proved almost useless against the Viltrumites' overwhelming strength and durability. Survivors described the attackers as a "tiny band" compared with the armies stationed across Mars, yet Korlan, Ares, and Helionyx continued their advance virtually unopposed.
As the destruction spread, Martian broadcasters seized emergency frequencies and transmitted desperate pleas across the planet and beyond. Distress signals reportedly carried the same message again and again: "Mars was under attack, its cities were falling, and help was urgently needed." Emergency broadcasts begged neighboring powers and distant civilizations to intervene before the remaining strongholds suffered the same fate. But despite the increasingly frantic calls, no rescue force arrived.
By nightfall, the broadcasts had begun to fade into static as one communications hub after another went dark. Three strongholds lay devastated, countless Martians had been displaced, and the whereabouts of many defenders remained unknown. For the survivors, the most frightening realization was not simply the scale of the destruction. It was how little force the Viltrumites had needed to cause it. Three attackers had been enough to bring entire Martian cities to their knees, leaving a battered world waiting for help that never came.
