Stolen Star Labs Spaceship - City Questions Research Safety

Around nightfall, a group of thugs broke into Star Labs. How is unknown. You would think someone would be able to stop such a low level threat without needing a super man(or woman, I'm not judging). The group snuck past all security and only alerted authorities when a spaceship flew from the lab. The ship was closely followed by copters, including one I was in myself. For a few minutes it seemed like these criminals had won. Until the ship crashed far into the outskirts of EOS city. There were no survivors. The only intact was the ship, which was not heavily damaged to point of not even being considered a crash. There must have been communication issues between the thieves. No bodies, no trace, nothing.
