The Incredible Hulk

Dr. Bruce Banner was a gifted nuclear physicist working on the Gamma Bomb project for the U.S. military during the Cold War. His work was driven by a desire to harness the power of gamma radiation for peaceful energy, but he was constantly under pressure from General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, who wanted the weapon for military use. The fateful day arrived when Banner was testing the device. He noticed a teenage spectator, Rick Jones, had wandered into the test zone. Banner rushed out to save him, shouting for the detonation to be delayed. The order was given, but the bomb was already armed. Banner pushed Jones into a protective trench but took the full brunt of the explosion himself. The blast exposed Banner to a massive, unprecedented dose of gamma radiation. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors believed he would die. Instead, as the sun set that night, a strange transformation began. The radiation had altered his DNA, linking his physical state to his emotional control. When Banner's heart rate rose or he felt anger, fear, or stress, he began to mutate. His skin turned a sickly green, his muscles swelled to monstrous proportions, and his mind was overtaken by a primal, rage-fueled alter ego: the Hulk. The smarter Banner was, the dumber the Hulk became, and the angrier the Hulk got, the stronger he became. Banner spent the rest of his life trying to find a cure for his condition, constantly on the run from the military and his own inner demon. He learned that the Hulk was not just a monster, but a manifestation of his repressed childhood trauma and rage. Over the years, Banner and the Hulk have oscillated between enemies and reluctant partners, united by the same body but divided by their minds.
